The guys have matured out of their sound they first offered with two albums under the band name Promotion. This is by far their best songwriting ever and is infectious.Once again, Scandinavia has produced some of the best melodic music on the market today.Pomp AOR fans hold on to your hats, as this is one of the best pure pomp-ish melodic rock releases I have heard ever.It takes a couple of spins to get into Grand Illusion's groove, but once you are in, the hooks within these songs never let go. |

great songs, i agree. but excellent singer? what a fantastic record would this one have been without this painful over the top singing. songs 9/10, vocals 5/10, so all in all 7/10. |

As previously mentioned, the Scandi production line is top-heavy with quality releases, including this gem."Accidently On Purpose" to my ears, being a "stand-out"track along with the title track... |

AOR Pomposo actual en su máxima expresión. Grand Illusion en esta decada debe ser el estandarte en cuestión a grupos que practican este estilo, no es mi estilo favorito por cierto. Producción ok, temas buenos y coros full Pomp. "105 (and Running)" "Accidentally on Purpose" "Don`t Wait Up" y "Parachute" mis preferidas en ese orden. Buenos solos y melodías en "Crazy From the Heat" y "Death of Me". 8.3/10 |

If you are into the old school of pompous songwriting along the lines of STYX and classic era MAGNUM, then this is the band for you. Smart hook lines, melodies, fine compositions and easy listening songs are all present on this album. Simple music for simple …ears, without any extreme elements. Influenced by various bands from STYX to RISING FORCE and from TOTO to TREAT, I liked their compositions very much, as also their production gives more strength to the emotional songs here. |
