This debut solo offering from the widely used sideman is okay -- some decent club-style Funk Rock reflective of the times (late '80s / early '90s). I got it when it first came out after reading a bunch of hype about him in Guitar Player magazine. It turns out Stevie is a capable player with mad groove skilz -- it's just too bad he didn't have the sense to hire a decent singer because his vocals are terrible. And the songs are just kinda lackluster, writing-wise -- the standout tune is for me is "Blind" with it's catchy chicken scratchin' guitar riff and deep groove. However, someone must've been asleep at the mixing board -- to my ears, there's a lack of bottom-end and overabundance of kick drum throughout the album. Stevie's later discs (especially with TM Stevens) are much better, and his work with Sass Jordan is aces. 60 / 100
