AOR freaky, i agree with you my friend this is indeed a great release. I have had this on vinyl for more years than i dare to remember. There were some mighty fine releases around this time. I miss these years.

I used to have an album by a Canadian band called Harlequin - but I don't recognize this album cover, name or any of the song titles. Does anyone know of other albums by this band or one with the same name??

From: anamal Date: January 29, 2004 at 0:14
you could be talking about their other release..one false move...

From: illimey Date: January 29, 2004 at 1:48
Thanks anamal. The name 'One False Move' does indeed sound familiar. I might get round to trying to find another copy of this album one day - if memory serves me right it is rather good...?

From: anamal Date: January 29, 2004 at 2:01
Yes it is , there are some great songs on that release..i have it on LP but have yet to find it on CD.

From: AOR freaky Date: January 29, 2004 at 4:50
It's nearly impossible to find this gem on CD, dear anamal ! A pity !

From: LUST Date: February 11, 2004 at 2:23
If you like their 2nd album, you need to check out Icon. Ex-Icon singer heads up Harlequin's 'One False Move'.

From: anamal Date: February 11, 2004 at 17:03

Harlequin 'Love Crimes' lp is a must have! Excellent music from a great era in music. You can find cd-r & vinyl combos on line.

From: rocketron Date: February 13, 2004 at 11:38
I have had this beauty on CD for years - original, not CDR so there must be some out there somewhere.

From: holyroller Date: February 22, 2004 at 23:23
Someone needs to change the flag on this one, these guys were Canadian! As far as I know, their discography is as follows: Victim Of A Song (1979), Love Crimes (1980), One False Move (1982), Harlequin (1984),and Greatest Hits (1986). Their first three albums were produced by Jack Douglas.

From: Rycheage Date: March 13, 2004 at 23:42
The bands trademark song would have to be the classic AOR of 'Innocence', still as impressive to listen to now as it was back in 1980. Staccato piano dominates on another AOR tinged effort 'It's All Over Now'. The melody goes into overdrive on the wonderfully rich and uptempo 'Wait For The Night'. Check out the simple but effective chorus!

From: big stu Date: August 6, 2004 at 10:23
g8 album introduced by my brother when i was 12 and never found it on lp or cd. I have finally managed to get a copy. All over now and Innocence are real diamonds and wait for the night is brilliant. If you wnat to get into AOR then get a copy. Foget Boston/Foreigner etc who all got the airplay these guys rocked in their time, pity they split

From: crap(stefo) Date: September 24, 2004 at 9:40
yes, a great band from dirty water (cree for winnipeg)used to know them and party with them. Still have all four of their albums and still listen to them once in a while. Hey Budz, I just bought myself a set of pearls a month ago (haven't) played in over 20 years and I still stink. All you out there that need an 80's fix check this group out. You won't be disapointed.

From: AOR freaky Date: September 12, 2005 at 11:59
Still didn't find this GEM on CD ! Damned ! Time all their albums will get a CD release ! If one act deserves this, it's certainly Harlequin. Perfect, nice and smooth AOR !

From: erik Date: June 26, 2007 at 8:29
They have now released a new cd called " Waking the Jester". http://www.myspace.com/harlequinrocks

Muy buen AOR que para ser de 1980 pues deja a ese año bien en alto. No un clásico en mi opinión pero es un gran disco. "Innocence" "Wait for the Night" y "It's All Over Now" mis favoritas en ese orden. "Can't Hold Back" y "Heaven (Dial 999)" buenas, ya el resto están ok pero nada como estos temas. 8.5/10

From: vandervelde Date: January 16, 2009 at 9:32
This is one of the maybe 10-20 albums before 85 i can listen to...I know there are more people like me who hate that old, dated AORsound but trust me this album is diffrent....still sound is terribly dated, but songs is what here is all about and they sounds like 86-91 era hits and with proper late 80s production would be marvellous.

From: Sudsy100 Date: September 14, 2010 at 22:20
Yeah . . . One False Move, Victim Of A Song and their 1985 S/T release aren't issued on CD. It's a common theme with a lot of Canadian bands active in the late-70s and into the mid-80s. There's huge gaps in their CD releases. I've got the vinyl for every title that didn't make it to CD, and even Love Crimes only came out in Japan on CD (SME Japan, SRCS 9462 . . . and costs a fortune). Other than Love Crimes in Japan, only the two "Best Ofs", Harlequin II (2004) and Waking The Jester (2007) came out on CD. Sigh . . .
