2nd release from the Finnish band, slightly darker and more progressive than the superb debut, although still very melodic.'Son Of A Gun' & 'Open Your Heart' are superb AOR Tracks and 'Still Strong' is an excellent ballad (although not as good as 'One Day' from the debut). All in all a very strong release not quite up to the debut, but not far off. Highly recommended.

Jez is right on the money. 'Signs' isn't as instantly appealing as the debut but I have a strong feeling it will sink in after a few listens.

Not that good at all, this one ! The singer is a bit weak and the songs are rather average. Nothing special at all. There are many better bands than this overrated one !

Have to disagree with Freddy again - this is becoming a bit regular on this site . This is a top melodic rock cd with an added twist, that something bit ORIGINAL about it (sorry i used the 'O' word). Definately in the top 5 released thie year and one that will probably stay there come the years end.

The voice, dear Jez, the voice !!! For top AOR you need a top singer ! Kimmo is only third rate, sorry. The man has an accent, and his voice is not strong. And the songs, average at best. No, Urban Tale leaves me totally cold. If all AOR was like this, I think I would not listen to the genre anymore ! Boring ! After all, this is only my opinion, Jez ! If you like it, enjoy it man. I prefer other bands !!!

They are a great melodic rock act that deserve an increased following and all the accolades that will come their way. Almost as good as the fabulous debut - which believe me, was always going to be a tough call. That album remains a nose in front due to it's uniqueness and special place in my personal favorites.

I have listened Urban Tale's sound clips from their 1st album, but I didn't like them much. But yes, I like much their second album. Urban Tale started as a Journey-cover band. I don't like Journey(Journey is an overrated band if you ask from me). Urban Tale's second album is at least really good. I don't know much so called 'AOR-bands' from Finland, so Urban Tale is a very 'special band' here in Finland. Full of memorable & catchy melodic rock songs. Really strong album!

Urban Tale suprised the aor world two years ago with the release of their superb debut. .Having traditional influences the band was expected to have an easily recognised, nostalgic yet unispired sound but it was nothing like this!!!Journey's Perry effects were there but the songwriting of the guys and the perfomance was outstanding!!!check this cd as well as the debut to feel the quality of these recordings that can easily stand beside any toto or journey big releases.Urban Tale lead the way!

A more progressive twist in the follow-up was not quite to my tastes. 'Starship of Giants' and 'Open your Heart' are the real killer pure AOR tracks here, but with more twists and turns and keyboard effects that the debut this one was much more of a grower. Not quite as consistent overall as the debut, but there is so little new product in this pure AOR genre that made this one as essential as the first. 8/10.

Just as with the CD before, I was left unimpressed. Luckily I'd learnt and got this on CDR first but don't even listen to that. Sorry guys, I don't get this band personally. IMO there are a million AOR bands out there doing it better than this (And I don't even know who most of them are!). Not a fave of mine at all. This is pretty similar to Tommy Denander stuff, hey?

Love this one aswell, especially as it was slightly darker, more progressive in parts than the debut, although there are some pure AOR moments to be had , the great 'Open your Heart' for one. Again another regularly played cd in the Jez household - even my wife likes this band which is saying something, as she doesn't get the whole genre on the whole.

Well I guess that's one thing I can say, Jez, that I'd prefer my lady to like this and have to listen to it as opposed to whatever other stuff she likes - R&B and that nonsense. She likes Bon Jovi and that's about as far as it extends for me. She's just lucky she's so gorgeous ;-D LOL, or maybe it's me who's the lucky one...

Geoff- I can't say what my wife likes as Freaky would have a right go and we don't want to be upsetting the old Belgian neanderthal now do we. Sod it she likes Vonray, Vonray, Nickelback, Harem Scarem (new stuff),Vonray, Pride Of Lions (oh sorry no, she hates that one) ,Mushroomhead, Vonray, aswell as stuff like Vonray, New Harem Scarem, The Almighty and anything else without keyboards like Vonray. Love her to death.

From: Geoff Date: August 26, 2004 at 9:43
Good on her! Yeah, my girlfriend is a lovely young lady, but I get the impression that if wonderful bands like Vonray and similar bands were on radio here she might just like them as radio's really all she listens to. I also reckon she'd like Harem Scarem's new stuff if given the chance. Oh well, hopefully I have plenty of years to infiltrate those lovely ears. Yeah, you best not tell Mr Freaky or he might force you to divorce your wife for her sour musical tastes!
