| Malice in Wonderland is certainly a menacing title for a rock album & Nazareth were certainly a band that could deliver the goods for such an opus. However, as evidenced by the opening track "Holiday", being one of their more accessible tunes ever written & played, the album is non-threating mainly because of the sonics. Second guitarist Zal Cleminson was again in tow but Jeff "Skunk" Baxter of The Doobie Brothers fame, who was at the control desk producing, influenced Nazareth to the point of nearly delivering a West Coast genre sounding album in nature. Hardly what anyone could have expected after hearing the hard hitting No Mean City previously. Yet, this collaboration gelled.

| Side one concludes with a dud but the four other tracks offered nearly make a perfect radio album side. The flipside is rather lackluster compaired to the first but "Fallen Angel" is the album highlight & ranks closely to "Star" as probably the bands second best ballad ever. McCafferty absolutely hits every note with purpose as the orchestral arrangement builds the song to it's apex while Charlton delicately dances around it with a beautiful acoustic riff. Also, the fan favorite "Big Boy" deserves to be mentioned as one of their lost gems & offers insight towards where the band was headed musically. Overall, fans were rewarded with one of the better, albeit lightweight, albums of Nazareth's career.

A good album!!!...most of the songs of this record will put a smile in your face for sure  (1,2,4(a nice song),5,7,8 & 9)...85/100
