| Angry, heavy-edged hard rock with lots of attitude. Not bad, but not exactly a mandatory own, either, especially for melodic purists, because AOR this ain't. But if you like slamming guitars and some big, mean, nasty riffs, then you may care enough to check this band out.

| ...and made AC/DC look very ordinary. Here we have a band that kicks serious arse live. This album has BALLS, it has MOJO, it has ATTITUDE, it will get your head bangin' and your ears bleedin'. If you like it hard, then you HAVE to get this one. Dream Theater it ain't, man! It's not raw like the Ramones, but it's SO DAMN COOL! GET IT!

| Sorry--have to disagree with you Buster. Saw The Poor open for AC/DC in Minneapolis and all the way to the show I was talking them up because I had the tape and they did sound quite a bit like AC/DC. However that night they were horrible. We couldn't wait for them to get off the stage. Granted AC/DC didnt seem to have their hearts in it this night, but The Poor never came close to making Angus and the boys "look ordinary".

| Well, all I can say is that I've seen them twice and they rocked real hard both times. I can't imagine them being "horrible" - but hey, maybe on that night.

| Lilting keyboards, complex arrangements and haunting melodies! That is why I love this band like no other. A definite MUST HAVE for all AOR'ers out there!!! 11/10

| Definitely AC/DC inspired hard rock. No wonder. Drummer James Young is the nephew of Angus and Malcolm. This cd is worth checking out. You can usually find it cheap at just about any used cd store.

| they no longer exist, sadly... skenie now fronts a band called lump, in queensland somewhere.. the other guys are doin all sorts of shit. james got the arse ages ago. bad attitude or some shit... i saw them heaps of times and they never gave a bad show... rip guys...

| Saw these guys open for AC/DC's Ballbreaker tour, I had heard the song "More Wine Waiter Please" on the radio quite a bit around that time and thought they were cool live, but then forgot all about'em till a few years later when I found the CD used for $2. Figured I couldn't beat that price, so I picked it up and was glad I did. Too bad they're not around anymore 'cos it's a pretty kick ass album!

| Much-inspired AC/DC material, but without Angus & co.'s edge. There are probably 2 or 3 good tunes and the rest are throwaways. Not a must own by any stretch of the imagination. There is MUCH better AC/DC inspired rock out there.

| Don't want to get too carried away as a lot of guys here seem to like this a lot. Just another point of view I have to offer is one which sees me saying I thought this was below average, well played but hookless hard rock. And I'm Aussie too so I should have some national loyalty, but I'll admit when I don't think something's up to par. I just found this well below average hard rock, but as a lot of people say if you like AC/CD (and I don't) you'll probably like this. Personal taste...

| This is an ok album for me. More Wine Waiter Please is a smokin' track but the rest is just lackluster hard rock. Good hard rock but nothing special. Hair of the Dog and Tell Someon Who Cares are pretty good too. Buy it if you can get it cheap which you should certainly be able to do. Have a few beers and judge this one for yourself. I look forward to your comments. Cheers!

| Yep,This album is in the vein of AC/DC. You can notice AC/DC´s tunes on tracks like "Liar" "More Wine Waiter Please" or "Only The Night". There are more "tribute" bands(To AC/DC) that i enjoy more than this one. Ok HardRock. 7/10

| buster don't be an asshole i saw them open 4 ac/dc twice on the ballbreaker tour in sydney they never made them look ordinary not even close but they were awsome in their own right saw them open 4 kiss as well and wasp in brisbane and was at the launch of this album in sydney great hard rock album with attitude from start to finish they have just got back together thank god as i love them buy this album people especially if u love acca dacca

| Very AC/DC inspired rock. Saw them twice, once with AC/DC and once with The Scorpions I believe...they failed to dissapoint. Very good live band, it's a shame they only put out 1 CD, although, the poster above says they are back together so hopefully they drop something on us soon.

| yes wookieenthal they are back together saw them live again for the 6th time when they opened for the screaming jets and blew the jets away i'm from australia they also have a new album called round 1 and they played some new songs off it you can get it through the bands website it only has 7 songs i think if you get it let me know what you think

Undusted it and gave it a spin again...what can i say?...awesome is the least this album deserves...and the band itself obviously!!!  ...AC/DC alike in some songs especially in the voice of Skenie that has a Bon Scott type of tone here and there..."Poison"... what a kicking a** starter along with "Downtown" & "Only The Night" then we have some  tracks such as "Man Of War","More Wine Waiter Please","Ain't On The Chain" & "Liar"...a worthy album by all means guys!!!.93/100

| very good release by THE POOR back in 94!raw hard rock music ,agressive and rhythmic with much energy ,but well executed!the songs are ok and dont expect somethin spectacular ,but the whole result is enjoyable!"man of war" and " more wine waiter please" the highlights!ok hard rock release

| Oh man, I heard "More Wine Waiter Please" on shuffle on my ipod on the way to work this morning. I can't get the song out of my mind, that RIFF, the gang shouts of "Oi!", the aggressive chorus... what a killer song!

| I know it's a little bit too easy to just say The Poor sound like AC/DC, but it is true, to an extent. But they sound like AC/DC on speed. The sustainedlevel of aggression is something the Brothers Young never approached, and makes them sound decidedly more modern than a lot of bands doing this sound. Skenie has a super-rough voice and can't quite hide his accent, which makes me think of Spike from the Quireboys. "More Wine Waiter Please" made a small dent in U.S. rock radio in the spring of '94, and is one of the disc's highlights, along with "Poison," "Liar" and the raging "Only The Night." They opened for AC/DC on the Ballbreaker tour in the States—because really, in '96, who else were they going to get?

| Who Cares is a fine, fun and mostly forgotten disc that you can slot in between Back In Black and the first Airbourne album, and let the drinking begin!
