good cover for your eyes - bad music for your ears. the singer sounds like donald duck on speed. no balls. the second album 'face another day' is a little bit better.

I love this album and i like the vocals too. I dont understand that you dont like them. I think any Melodic hard rocker will love the songs on this album, specialy all BONFIRE fans.

THIS IS A GOOD HARD ROCK ALBUM THAT REMINDS A LOT THE BAND BONFIRE . THE FIRST SONG IS GREAT .

This cd came out in 1995? Are they a hair metal band? they sure look it. How could they keep such a great image in 1995? Someone explain please!

it ain't bad.not a classic.but a hell of a lot better than alot of the stuff out their.two of the members out of bonfire helped on this cd.but to me they sound more like ez livin.there is a bonfire thing going on.and vocals ain't that bad.maybe their not that strong.but there ok.

Wild Frontier flashbacks!!! 'Face another day' must be uploaded onto this site. I will check later today as to how to go about it because that album is sensational and what sites like this are based on! This debut is simply awesome and I'm surprised to see the few comments above. 'Crying in the Night' has the best melodic riff ever (Or right up there, think Stage Dolls 'Love cries' with more guitar / balls), 'Is It Love' and 'Someday' are nice commercial rockers, 'Heart of the Young' (cont...)

(cont) is made for driving with the (or her) top down, 'Lovin' Kind' is a beautiful heartfelt ballad and you'd be a hard person to not appreciate this - stunning, 'Alone' shows musical perfection and is a killer melodic hard rocker, 'Talk to Me' is one of the best, a commercial anthem - brilliant, 'Sometimes She Cries' an 'Take me to your heart' are both killer hard rocker and again in 'Listen To Me' we are shown an amazing ability to write a sincere, heartfelt and compelling ballad. Excellent!!

Hey z4roxx, yeah I am a huge fan of this band. Don't know what it is about them as they're not groundbreaking or original but they just do what they do so well. Do you have 'Face another day'? That is much heavier than this and extremely melodic. Possibly the ebst album of theirs. The latest is very (way too) soft though.

Yes Geoff,I do have this one and'face another day' + first single/ep.Sicerely are many years that I don't hear'face another day'but I found it boring without any remarkable track than this one where I can appreciate some good and catchy song indeed.But sorry mate,not awesome to me.If you like this band I can recommend you 2 bands in particular:Hall of Fame and Mr.Nasty,ok not althought the same identical style but are both german and maybe they should like for your tastes....

Thanks for the tips z4roxx. I have the Mr Nasty disc, but that is more sleaze metal and nowhere near as melodic as Hotwire. I just had a look at he Hall of Fame disc on this site and would dearly love a copy of that one. Unfortunately I don't manage to get around to many CD/CDR trades these days, but there are a few releases like that that make me want to do a few more. Looks very promising.

Yes Geoff,as I wrote you they weren't in the same vein as Hotwire(expecially Mr.Nasty,is right,it's more sleazy and less melodick)but production and nationality inspired me for this comparrison.Of course Geoff,Hall of Fame is a great band,contains elements of Casanova,Surrender and Number Nine,IMO it's a must.Try to get it.Again,also Mr.Nasty is a great disc to me...

The music starts out pretty good, but then the singer opens his mouth and ruins it. He definately doesn't fit this band in the slightest. They need someone with a little more power and gruff. Michael Bormann would do nicely. 2/10 for the vocals, 8/10 for the music

I agree 100% on the negative comments regarding the singer; the name says Werner Stadi, but I think even Colonel Klink himself, Werner Klemperer, could do a better job than Mr. Helium-Voice... Not surprised to see he didn't hang around long enough to appear on their third album -- he's probably fronting a pop band somewhere, or working up a lounge act for Vegas...

Another one that i got yesterday. And what a killer this one is. Totally with Geoff on this one. And whats this BS about the singer. The only singer that that doesnot deserve that title is loser Axel Rose. This is a catchy melodic rock album and the singer blends in perfectly with the total vibe of this band. Excellent release all in all 8,5/10. Geoff how is the Face another day album? As good ?

Muy buen disco de pop metal que recuerda a Bonfire, Casanova y bandas de ese tipo.La voz no es tan desagradable, tiene excelentes riffs y grandes coros, y la musica suena a bandas de la mejor epoca, o sea los 80. HEART OF THE YOUNG, CRYING IN THE NIGHT y ALONE son las que roban mas mi atencion.

I honestly don't see what's so bad about the vocals. Werner Stadi sounds like a male version of Asti Krattiger (Merry N, Trick Or Treat). The vocals aren't bad, just an acquired taste. "Crying In The Night" "Is It Love" and "Alone" are all very great songs in my book.

This German band sounds like a scaled-back version of Bonfire or Demon Drive, the songs more midtempo rather than full-throttle rockers. There's a little less heat in the guitars than your typical melodic hard rock band, but this is still some very catchy stuff, full of commercial hooks and sing-along melodies. Especially good is the closing ballad "Listen to Me," which for some reason always reminds me of Saigon Kick's "Love is on the Way," just to give you a feel for the song. Bottom line, any melodic rock fan that doesn't own this one must have their wires crossed.

Pop Metal is the best way 2 describe this debut album by Hotwire as most of the songs are of catchy terms..."Alone" & "Talk To Me" are my faves...tracks 1,2,4 & 5(nice softy)are also goodie ones...enjoyable and "happy" stuff...87/100

in the middle of the nineties ,the terrific grunge wawe had killed the melodic rock.in this time ,no internet,no window open on all the world,so for a little french fan like me, it was very difficult for listen my fav music.i had find a very little independant radio in lyon who plays melodic rock all Fridays between 9 pm and 11 pm.so you imagine my ears was scotched all Fridays to this radio.i remember the first time they plays "crying in the night" i was very impress.it was very hard for find this cd cause the big general store in lyon (fnac) can t have this record."label too little" they says.finally i ve find this jewel in paris several months after.what a superb work from this unknow german band.only killers and fantastic songs (exept track 3).the production is perfect thanx to mr lessman and ziller.ok the singer have a special voice,the first spin you will be surprise but after no problem.that s ok.one of my fav records ever.

the singer have a strange voice,after several spins that s ok.sometimes he sing like a duck.he also have sometimes a strange accent.strangely he sing very well on the superb ballab "listen to me".this guy is a mystery.
