Ok, no comments on this one yet... Well, IMO one of the best melodic metal releases EVER. Aeronautics is full of great vocals (of course...Jorn), big guitars, solid rythym section, fantastic production, soberb songwriting. What else could you ask for? Best tracks are Wounds, Headbanger's Ballroom and the spetacular Black In The Burn. I can't believe you will find anything superior in this genre.

Jorn Lande is better than god.... MASTERPIECE

Jorne Lande has done it again with this masterpiece. Very good melodies and crunchin guitar riffs. Extremely well produced!

Lande is crazy - hold on for the ride of your life. This DISC screams with power and melodic umph. 2005 possible DISC of the year.

Simple: You must have it!

I don't often venture into this style of music but having gotten into Nightwish and Threshold albums in 2004 I thought I'd give this a spin too, and it's a monster. A huge wall of sound (similar to Nightwish) with killer riffs and layers of keyboards, and some of the most powerful vocals I've ever heard. The commercial "Wounds" and the epic "Black in the Burn" are my faves, but repeated listens are throwing up new faves all the time. Essential. 9.5/10.

The most consistent album they have done.Headbangers Ballroom is a must to hear and in my view the best song they have ever done.A great album for those who like this style. The small hardback book as the cd case and cover is a great concept. A great package overall.

Album of the year!!! at least for me. I´m not normally listen to this kind of heavier melodic rock very often but Jorn Lande´s voice make this album such a clear winner (and on a closer inspection you can definately call it the follow up to Whitesnakes "1987"). Haven´t heard anything else the last few weeks so you might get an impression how good it is. Favorite tracks are "Crimson Rider", "Back In My Life", "Wounds", "Falling Sparrow", "Treasure World" and the might "Black In The Burn". 95/100

Its now mid August and I am struggling to see what album is going to surpass this as album of 2005! This is melodic metal of the finest quality - perhaps best ever?! Lande's vocals are supreme throughout and in 'Falling Sparrow' and 'Black in the Burn' you have two of best songs you are likely to hear! Absolute must buy!

From: AOR freaky Date: August 18, 2005 at 12:01
Great stuff indeed, dear Lennie ! Best ever ? Certainly not, even not best of the year so far. For me the top album so far is Presto Ballet, followed shortly by Dream Theater. Then it's a real battle between this record, Shadow Gallery, Blanc Faces, Matrex, Kamelot, Artension, Hartmann, Firewind, Mystic Prophecy, Vanishing Point,Iommi, Starbreaker,Rob Rock, Royal Hunt, Brazen Abbot, James Labrie etc. to come on place three. But Bardowell, Legs Diamond, Montrose and a lot more is coming ! So ?

From: Lennie Date: August 19, 2005 at 10:25
Dear Freaky, agree with yr comment that Hartmann and Blanc Faces are quality releases, but my tastes range more to the metal/harder edged sound and therefore Masterplan does it for me! However if I am honest I believe that the Allen/Lande release 'The Battle' will beat all comers - this will be an absolute MONSTER and will satisfy hard rockers and AOR lovers alike. All the best!

From: AOR freaky Date: August 19, 2005 at 14:41
I'm glad we do agree, dear Lennie ! Masterplan is great indeed ! I know Blanc Faces and Bardowell and Hartmann are a bit more sophisticated, but class ! But the rest I've named is certainly in your alley, mate. Harder and quality. Presto Ballet is even BRILLIANT ! But, I'm also looking forward to buy the Allen/Lande record. It will be a MONSTER hardrock CD !!!

From: T-Bone Date: August 22, 2005 at 18:40
Freaky...why don't you stick to reviewing cd's instead of reviewing everyone elses reviews and scolding or correcting them about their opinions. As for this cd, this was indeed a monster and I absolutely loved it. No filler tracks on this baby!!! Hard edged guitar riffs and excellent vocal delivery!

From: TIM (2) Date: August 23, 2005 at 2:41
Anyone who bought this album should go to Melodicrock.com & check out the samples for the new Lande/Allen album which sounds as if it could well blow this out of the water...

From: Lennie Date: August 24, 2005 at 7:26
Dear Freaky, 'Presto Ballet' heh?? mmm not sure if retro 70s styled music is quite my thing, but sounds interesting???! Had a squiz at Shadow Gallery and that really sounds pretty damned good actually so thanks for the tip. Man my wallet takes a hammering these days! all the best.

From: AOR freaky Date: August 25, 2005 at 4:53
Hi Lennie : indeed not sure if you'll like it, but hell, give it at least a try. It's really SUPERB, mate ! And I still have to see the first negative review on this one. In all mags and on all sites this is rated as FIRST CLASS STUFF !!!

From: ace66 Date: August 25, 2005 at 6:01
This is one of the best releases along with Kamelot and Angra.Superb and strong stuff indeed and like somebody said my wallet had a hard banging this year.....and more to come.Yikes!!!

From: Beikes Date: September 13, 2005 at 1:11
This has to be the release of the year. Superb and very fat production, great guitarskills and crazy drumming, and to top it all with Jørn Lande...I can surely see why they choosed to call themselves MASTERPLAN! This is truly a band of masters, masters of melodic, progressive and sympfonic power metal! A must have! 10/10

From: Lennie Date: September 21, 2005 at 17:25
Did you hear the guillotine fall....CHOP! Allen/Lande has just ceremoniously decapitated 'Aeronautics'. If you havent got it yet buy 'The Battle' - it is simply the best melodic metal release in at least the last 5 years and will be for probably the next five years! OK rant over - now just go and buy it!!!!!!!! Im off to the toilet to cream my pants again!

From: hevi Date: September 24, 2005 at 12:24
this year second best album.best so far but then came allen & lande/the battle.lande is the king.

From: Figge Date: March 9, 2006 at 18:38
Brilliant stuff!!! Class and quality all through and one of the best melodic hard rock/metal albums ever, IMO. Jorn Lande is without doubt the best metal vocalist around these days. His feel for melodies/harmonies are outstanding. Along with Allen/Lande and maybe Gotthard, the best this year (2005). Love it!

From: LGBG1978 Date: October 19, 2006 at 18:22
Definitivamente su disco demas alto nivel a mi gusto claro, buena musicalizaciòn, de la voz ni que decir lo mejor en este genero, vale la pena escuchar a es te grupo.

From: Muddley Date: October 26, 2006 at 17:57
Perfect album. Easily a 10/10. Lande is a superb musician. 10/10 from me.

From: juan carlos Date: June 24, 2007 at 11:24
ó en "Into The Arena" y esos ataques guitarreros y de solos en "Black In The Burn". 9.3/10
