One of the best Commercial Melodic Rock/AOR albums that Canada ever made or in this case Bryan Adams that it´s the same. "Summer Of '69"(What a Classic, pure nostalgic!) "Somebody" "Heaven" "Run To You" and "It's Only Love" are CLASSICS. If you don´t have this one... 9.8/10 Where is John Cougar Mellencamp!?.

From: Geoff Date: January 21, 2009 at 20:17
Pretty solid AOR disc. I think all of Bryan Adam's discs have quite a few fillers and this is no exception, but 'One Night Love Affair' is a nice opener, 'Heaven' is still a timeless ballad and how can you not love 'Summer of 69'?! Pretty cool disc.

Yes , this one and "Cuts Like A Knife" are the albums to go with here. Towards the end of the Eighties Adams lost much of his momentum.

The previous 'Cuts Like A Knife' was an excellent album but 'Reckless' is Mr.Adams finest offering in his catologue by far and the album that really put him on the map big time. Hit after hit on here and with good reason, as some of the songwriting is near perfection. The only clunker on show would be the rather naff 'Kids Wanna Rock' which doesn't do alot for me, otherwise it is plain sailing all the way. It was a slow downhill ride after this one, with 'Into The Fire', whilst being a good disc, never got anywhere near the popularity of this and 'Waking Up The Neighbours' which was a patchy affair in my opinion. After that, not a lot to write home about bar the odd song here and there.

Excellent disc. I had no idea that the song Heaven was the same one covered by "DJ Sammy" and played in night clubs all over the world. Ugh. I can't listen to it without thinking of their version which is a pity because it's an excellent ballad. I'd say this one is his second best after Waking Up The Neighbours.

Like it or not, Adams was one of the coolest acts during the mid 80's. His tunes were catchy, especially on this album, & were smooth but had an edge that kept them interesting. "Run to You" is one of his best songs & still has a great vibe. Great album to relive nostalgic memories.

ONE OF THE GREATEST ALBUMS EVER. TRULY A MASTERPIECE. ALTHOUGH THE LYRICS TO RUN TO YOU BOTHER ME. I,M NOT INTO CHEATING ON MY LOVER. GREAT GUITARS,SINGING,DRUMS,SYN,ORGAN,KEYS AND BASS. A MUST OWN CD.I OWN THIS.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: September 28, 2011 at 15:30
You may not be into cheating on your lover (I'm not either), but it happens. It's part of life. So what? It's just a song.

If I had to make a list of the best rock ballads since 80s' I would surely pick up "Heaven". If I had to make a list of the best rock songs I might pick up "Summer of '69" but if I had to make a list of the best rock albums I wouldn't choose "Reckless". There are namely except those two excellent hits some good songs (e.g. #1,5,8), but also some average tracks which lower the level of the whole album. Anyway, if you want to get fair classic rock or high-octane pop rock, you can't be wrong about this album. 80/100.

a classic of the 80 s rock and overall in the history of music with Bryan finally reaching his highs and getting it over the top!many classic big hits that ruled the radios worldwide and i m sure all of us remember them through our lives !essential of course

Lots of highlights in this album [tracks 1,3,4,5,6] are his best and most well-known songs but I don't like the last 3-4 songs much. I would say half on the album is perfect while second half is average. There are 7 bonus tracks in the 30th Anniversay Re-issue but I haven't heard them.

"Reckless" is the fourth and most commercially successful studio album by Canadian super-singer, guitarist and songwriter Bryan Adams. It was recorded at the Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Canada and produced to perfection by the much respected and famous Bob Clearmountain. All of the original 10 tracks featured were co-written by Adams and his longtime composing partner Jim Vallance and it just shows what a perfect match and strong songwriting team they really are. In addition to the seemingly overplayed summer hit, some of my own all time favourite songs include "One Night Love Affair", "Run To You", "Heaven", "Somebody" and "It's Only Love". 9/10

From: Dx7 Date: October 29, 2021 at 12:02
In all likelihood, "Reckless" is the album with the most hits in it on par with Def Leppard's Hysteria. The fact remains that at the level of quality it surpasses it without a shadow of a doubt. A curious fact is that Mutt Lange will be Adams' producer for the 1991 album. The best chorus of 1984: One Night Love Affair

I'm right now listening to the 30th Anniversary edition, and even the bonus tracks that were left outside the original album are of a very high level. The Adams/Vallance duet really did some superb song writing. The Definitive Rock album of the 80s, in my opinion. He should have retired after this one. It could only go downhill from this MASTERPIECE (and unfortunately it did, slowly at first but like a rock a bit later...).
