You know, I look at the amount of work these guys have done in their career, and I gotta say, I'm glad they were part of my generation. They represent what I believe-- work hard, play hard, rock on and enjoy life!!!

From: wicked lester Date: June 30, 2001 at 15:14

EXELLENT COMPILATION...AND LIVE...BUY IT

From: Tony Date: April 18, 2002 at 9:36
I had NEVER heard guitars like this before I listened to this cd as a kid. Just left my mouth agape and my ears ringing. To state what a classic this is would be redundant and one of those releases that if you claim you dig rock-n-roll and you don't own it than who do you think you're foolin??

From: Desslar Date: April 18, 2002 at 11:03
Epic live album that sounds great and transports you to Kiss's glory days, back when everyone actually played their own instruments.

From: rocknutter2001 Date: August 16, 2002 at 7:34

From: Enzoleader Date: September 8, 2002 at 7:54
You know, I'll always be a kiss fan...When I was 8 y.o, after seeing kiss on TV show in 1978 and being very impressed, my father offered me Alive!, it was the first one I ever heard ...what a huge album! However, many years later, I've heard rumours saying that the only thing that was live on this album was the title. I dont know if this album was in fact recorded in studio with false live sound, but anyway all I can say is that even made in studio, THEY ARE WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME!!!

From: RichieRocker Date: September 16, 2002 at 20:50
What hasnt been said about this album? The best live album of all time!!! period. No contest.

From: Kim Date: September 19, 2002 at 22:01
Amen.....:-)

From: Marty Date: September 20, 2002 at 22:06
When I first heard this album I was a 14 year old dorky white kid. It was the greatest thing I had ever heard. Listening to "Hotter than Hell" Still gets my blood going today as a 40 year old dorky white guy. Definately the greatest live album ever cut to vinyl. I'm listening to the mp3 now and can't help from doing the B&B head pump along with it.

the best.every kid who thinks linkin park or creed is the greatest rock band should be locked in their room and be forcefed this album at the highest possible levels lol..its a damn shame even so called "classic"rock stations ignore this album other than the occasional live version of "r n r all nite".this has to be the only double album that i dont wanna skip even one song.thats incredible when u think about it.

From: IT'S ME AGAIN Date: March 29, 2003 at 22:28

this is by far the greatist live album of all time by the greatist show on earth. i will alway's crank this album rock on.

From: John Date: October 10, 2003 at 15:22
Did they touch it up in the studio? Who care? Greatest live album ever. Period. Man do I love 'Nothin' To Lose'. Peter should have been given more lead vocals.

From: Chris Date: October 30, 2003 at 10:09
Classic and epic live rock album. One of the best live albums ever.

From: ACES MATE Date: January 1, 2004 at 16:44
Never heard a track by Kiss until I saw the cover to this album, bought it for the cover in 76 and been a fan ever since!!!!!

From: starman Date: May 7, 2004 at 15:46
Even though they took some liberties with calling this a "live" album, it still remains one of the best examples of a live arena rock environment. And all these tunes sound better than the original studio versions. Ace shines throuhgout with his unique lead solos. If you're gonna get one KISS album, this is the one! IT'S COLD GIN TIME AGAIN!

From: Uncle Salty Date: June 5, 2004 at 17:49
That beginning of the album with the songs "Deuce" and "Strutter" is amazing. They play these 2 songs with an energy never seen before.

From: Jimbo Date: June 10, 2004 at 16:49
Before this record came out, most bands treated "live" albums as throw-aways to fulfill contract obligations or bridge the gap between overdue studio albums. Incredibly, not only did KISS and Bill Aucoin realize the potential a live show could have on vinyl, they also pushed for a DOUBLE album with a gatefold sleeve, (no small feat), and a concert style "program" insert with pictures of the band. Their effort was worth it because this is still the greatest live album of all time.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 0:33
One of the essential live albums. They take relatively boring studio tracks and spice them up in a live setting. 10/10

From: GETTING CLOSER Date: June 27, 2004 at 8:40
KISS WORLD COMING SOON TO VICTORIA AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY TUNED,IT'S GONNA' BE HUGE!!!!!!!!

From: CheeseStooge24 Date: July 27, 2004 at 1:05
It's all prety much been said, after mass consumptions of rock 'n roll for 30 years (I remember whe Led Zeppelin was a new band), I can say that, despite all their later sell-out tactics, this is one of the all-time live albums to own. It's loud, it's raw, it's exciting! I loved it then and I love it now! Their best work by far!

From: jrenato-Brazil Date: October 25, 2004 at 22:38
Best live album ever! This is the place where we see the real bands:the stage!Send a copy to those shitty bands of these days and teach them how to really rock!!!!!

From: Rycheage Date: October 28, 2004 at 20:46
This is THE quintessential live album. Other than "Frampton Comes Alive" (which was only released due to the success of this), there is no other live album which stands up to the clarity and quality playing on a live disc, before or since. They did, indeed, give new life to relatively boring tracks which generally went nowhere. A real must own.

From: jrscan77 Date: October 7, 2005 at 20:45

From: metallian Date: May 9, 2006 at 5:51
one of the greatest live albums ever. with JUDAS PRIEST´s Unleashed in the east, DEEP PURPLE´s Made in Japan and RAINBOW´s On stage.Ace Frehley was guitar god!!!

From: Muddley Date: May 9, 2006 at 19:23
Metallian...This is 'actually' called a Live Album, but the whole thing was rerecorded again and adain and again in the studio. I bought this album when it came out, way back in the 70's. I loved it, but when I heard and read that its a Studio album, with audience noise on it, I really lost my interesse in Kiss. Kiss is to me a joke. Now they have Tommy Thayer and another clown dressing up as Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley...............Theyre a joke.

From: evileric71 Date: December 21, 2006 at 11:06
This is a STUDIO album. The whole thing was recorded in a studio with false live noise added in. Therefore, it is not a live album. And to the person who said that Frampton Comes Alive was recorded and released because of the success of this album???? You need to do your homework. The bulk of Peter's album was recorded BEFORE the Kiss album ever came out. The reasoning for releasing it was due to the success that Peter had with Humble Pie's Rockin The Filmore, which IS a TRUE live album.

From: sluss528 Date: December 23, 2006 at 21:03
it's not a studio album you fuck nut's!!! eddie kramer went into the studio and polished the hell out of this to get the sound that you here! it was totally recorded live at cobo hall!!!

From: evileric71 Date: January 13, 2007 at 14:55
Hey sluss528, you have NO idea what you are talking about. I went to Kiss shows back in 74-75. They NEVER sounded like this live. It has been admitted by Eddie Kramer himself that all band members were present when he tried to polish the sound. They realized that there were a lot of bum notes and bum harmonies in the singing that, he made the band re-record the tracks musically. Then he had Paul and Gene re-record the vocals (lead and background). Ace's backing vocals are NOWHERE on the album. W

From: evileric71 Date: January 13, 2007 at 14:59
Peter's vocals (with the exception of what he sang lead on) are also nowhere on this mix. Alive II is done in the same fashion. Everybody who is a Kiss fan knows for a fact that Hard Luck Woman & Tomorrow And Tonight were never performed live on the tours leading up to Alive II. And for the record, the Alive album was recorded in 3 different studios. In Detroit, Davenport Iowa and Wildwood, New Jersey. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!

From: evileric71 Date: January 15, 2007 at 16:27
My apologies. What that last part should have said was it was taken from 3 different shows with the cities that are listed. Nonetheless, it is a STUDIO album. Alive II is a STUDIO album. Alive III is a studio album and the unreleased live tracks from You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best, were VERY MUCH done in the studio. Sorry, but it's the truth.

From: MigPer71 Date: April 22, 2008 at 13:35

From: sabace Date: August 13, 2009 at 8:32
one of the greatest rock lps period ! this bullshit about it being re recorded or over dubbed , it was still KISS that played on it .

From: pie75 Date: July 16, 2010 at 9:04
there's probably a hand full of great live albums that are absoloutley essential to own and this my friends is one of them from start to finnish when you hear it you wish you were there

The best live album from KISS!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 24, 2014 at 17:14
I own this on vinyl..."100,000 Years" is my all time fave of this live record and IMHO is by far the best cut in here(with that drum solo who could possibly say it isn't! )...a band that was at its very peak of the moment back on those days(are they still?)...an enjoyable release...90/100
